Howdy folks!

I'm looking for a good "holder" for my keel/lumber crayon. I have the traditional one pictured below but it doesn't hold the keel as firmly as I'd like and the keel just pushes back into the holder.
I've seen other models/types of keel holders out there and wondered if any of you had other ideas or could share your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Every one of that brand I had (2)was worthless, the wood threads strip out in two days. I gave up and just used my hand. ?????ÿ

Maybe try chalk in there, instead of keel?

Baileys makes an aluminum holder for lumber crayons.?ÿ I had one once until someone wore it home to adorn their dresser top.?ÿ

Those wooden one are OK.?ÿ I used to wrap a bunch of drafting tape around the crayon so it would fit snug.?ÿ

@squirl

Flagging fixes everything! Wrap the keel in some flagging. Then when you run out at a critical time/place, you can rob the flagging from your keel holder! ?????ÿ

We have a guy that drafts with them up. It's nice when sharpens them first.

I made a sleeve of sandpaper to surround the keel. Worked for years.?ÿ
