No worries....

Having worked for "government" before.....

Many that ask for bids wouldn't know the difference
between a professional service, and a janitorial services bid...

They need "educating" as much as the private clients do.....

I still label those documents as an "estimate" somewhere in the
verbiage, just to get them thinking along those lines.

Work is work.... pride can be a great way to lose weight.

Just saying that we need to stay on top of "educating" our
potential client base.

Cheers!

> I'm not going to let pride get in the way of performing surveys and making money. The government wants a bid, so they're going to get one.

Even more interesting. This was a governmental agency that requested the 'bid' for professional land surveying services. I cringe at that sentence in more ways than I can describe. Does your state have Quality Based Selections requirements for procuring professional services?

I understand you gotta eat, but when we constantly let others dictate how we, as professional land surveyors, procure work in a manner similar to procuring janitorial services I wonder what we're really doing.

No QBS requirement in Tennessee.

If you hate bidding work so much, perhaps you should change professions.
