I've had that happen to me. still haven't figured it out

I've never used a true robot...
But, I've seen alot.
Just as a test, take the legs apart, put teflon tape in all moving parts. And some non moving! (I even saw one with a slightly loose tripod foot).
Get very particular.
Add a bit of teflon to contacts in tribrach.
80+% chance its in the legs, and or tribrach.
This is the cheap and easy thing to check first.
