We had a retirement in our office recently and one of the gals suggested we order one of those photo cakes and use a picture of a survey on it. We did a search for the word "Happy" in our database, hoping for a "Happy Trails" subdivision. No dice on that, but the one plat with Happy in the title worked out well for a retirement - the 1977 plat of "Happy Acres".
The icing on the cake is that this plat was filed by the late Jim Tye, one of the nicest guys and finest surveyors I've had the honor to know (for you Portland Oregon surveyors, Jim was Tom Tye's brother and had worked for a while at Compass Land Surveying before moving back to Bend and working for his other brother at Sun Country Engineering and Surveying. Another brother also has a surveying/engineering company in Bend).

Cool idea for a party! You know you may have stumbled on a great marketing tool. Can you do that with a pecan pie ??
Dead.
Solid.
Perfect.
Then you notice you missed a bearing.
At least in this case you can eat the evidence!
Happy retirement!!!

Thanks JB, but it was a coworker who retired. Not me. But like R.J. said above (hey, am I the only one in this thread who goes by a a first name?), it's a cool idea for any survey function worthy of cake.
No red lines???
