Can the locations stored be sorted alphabetical?
Thanks,
Ed
I use Google Earth pretty much everyday and the only way I've been able to figure out how to sort or rearrange anything is to do it manually. Or have it sorted the way you want it if you import a file. You can export your places as a .kml file that you can them open in Excel, since at that point it is an .xml file and mess around with. I've done this to get lat/long info for some of the places I've stored.

Thanks Adam, I will need to get used to using the search function instead of just scrolling and looking for my job sites.

Sorry, I just looked again, that only works on subfolders.

Thanks.
I was trying to figure out how to create and move my locations into a subfolder, but have not had any success yet.

Click the folder that you would like to have the sub-folder in. Then either right click and choose add, then folder, or choose add from the menu bar, then folder. If you want to create a placemark or path or polygon in that folder, click the folder to highlight it, then add your placemark. Your placemark will be created in the selected folder. You can always drag and drop items from folder to folder by selecting them and holding down the mouse button and dragging them to the desired folder.

Thanks, I will give that a try.

Whatever you do, figure out where "my places" file is and make a backup copy of it every once in awhile.
I have seen place marks just vanish.

I have this done automatically every day, but I also occasionally do a SaveAs of My Places to a different name in a different folder.
I didn't realize I could Sort A-Z in my subfolders. This is AWESOME! I suppose if I had just looked down the list of options...
I use GE a lot for printing site and area maps for my crews. I will take the NGS data sheets and drop pins at their lat/long so that the crew can see the approximate location when they are out trying to locate them. It is very handy. And then, I just save those dropped pins in a folder called NGS mons so they are saved for future jobs.
Now if I could just automatically import a data sheet to GE when I get one...
skwyd,
These two links have NGS control stations on GE. You can click on the placemarks to bring up the datasheets. I've used them both at times.
