Well, I'll be headed out to the old CBL next week.
I'm hoping to hit it on a nice cloudy day.
I've got to tune up the WILD NL for setting the tribrachs.
Which means I need to call in a favor from the building maintenance guys in my office building.
It's nearly 350 feet down a clear stairwell. Very handy.
I have a nice digital sling psychrometer. Is it still a sling psychrometer if you don't sling it?
I have a copy of the "Use of Calibration Baselines" and a nice spreadsheet application from Mike Mulcare for the comps.
I do need a good digital thermometer/barometer combo. Any suggestions on one of those?
What am I forgetting?
No I don't plan on using parasols - that's why God invented cloudy days.
(Yes, yes, Paul, I know ultra-violet rays can penetrate clouds, but don't they also bounce up under the parasol...)
P.S. Does "going to the CBL" make the Stones "Going to a Go-go" run through your head, too?
I always though that the Brunton Sherpa looked interesting.
I never owned one but thought about it a few times in years gone by.
Where is the CBL in NY..at an airport?
Brunton Sherpa at Cabelas
I guess that I am old. Going to a Go-Go reminds of the Smokey Robinson original
No, it didn't make me think of that song, but even as a huge Stones fan, I am with Mr. Hill. Mick's bellowing is no match for Smokey's voice on that song.
What are you forgetting? Beer?

Just don't forget to take your camera. We wanna see pictures...
Pleeze...
Yep, photoblog that session.

Yea! Pics! I concur with Beer Legs.
I have a couple of the Brunton Sherpas and they work fine for pressure. There are other models in the price range and they work well, too. Consistent. Its my guess that the works inside all of these things rolls of the same chinese assembly line and gets stuffed into different shaped cases. Just make sure you are reading atmospheric pressure, not barometric. The digital thermometer in them takes a long time (hours) to stabilize. I use a mercury thermometer for temperature.
Scott,
Which one you going to, Skillman maybe? Let me know when and I will be glad to lend you my Kern Parasol, recently featured on another message board. Be glad to lend a hand too ....
