I have the cable and the manual, but I am at a total loss as to how to export coordinates from my computer into the Topcon 235W onboard memory. Does anyone have a technique they can relay to me?

THANKS

Frank,

I have a similar instrument. I do not use the onboard software, but I seem to remember that Topcon Link was mentioned when I bought my instrument.

Your Topcon Dealer should be able to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!

Jimmy

Topcon Link will format an ASCII file to what the instrument needs. That utility software is free to Topcon equipment owners. It can be downloaded from Topcon Total Care.

The web address is http://topcontotalcare.com/

The site will require you to register to obtain a username and password.

The link to download Topcon Link is under the Software pull-down menu and is in the Utilities and Updates list.

Once you have installed the software, the convert function is listed under the File pull-down menu. You will want to set the destination format to the Topcon GTS-210/310 coordinate selection. You will need to establish a serial connection although it may be possible to send the file to the instrument via bluetooth if your computer is bluetooth enabled.

I know this works because I have done it myself, but only a couple or three times. It does require a bit of patience and working with your eyes open.
