This has to do with the Nelson Buck survey party that was camped on the Republican in Red Willow County, Nebraska. That was the last they were seen. thought history buffs would enjoy this.

I wrote a history of this event back in the early 1990's. There is a roadside park along Highway 89 for a memorial.
