I got in my mind that I am going to restore a couple of old fluted range poles. Each 4-foot section has a connection like each end as shown in the picture. I am showing the two different ends. The tip of the left slides into the hole on the right which has a recessed threaded stud that goes up into the part going into it. (Not sure what to call male and female here, since the female section has a recessed male part). Anyway, I also found this old tip, but I do not think it goes with this set. Does anyone have one of these types of range poles to show what type of tip it used and how it connected to the end?

1976 called; they want their range pole back...LOL

We used those everyday, back in the 70's and 80's. You sure brought back some memories...

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the fluted poles I use to have had a rather long point that was swaged to the 'bottom' section. When it wore out or broke we had several top sections like you show, but no bottom.

I think I still have some of those poles but I have no idea if they have a tip on them. I will look the next time I am around the house in the daylight.
