I have a somewhat unusual situation here for me. In a housing tract a small stream was relocated back away from a road to fit more houses in...maybe 100'+/-. I think this was done back in the 1980's.
The stream had a Zone A associated with it. Using the original flood map the Zone A would be going through an existing house.
How would one proceed to try and show FEMA that the stream is relocated and the house should be "out as shown" with the new stream location?
Has anyone work through one of these?
Thanks
I've seen a similar situation, and it was resolved with a LOMA. Although, it looked like a very complicated LOMA. They basically remapped the area and attached a new map of the area to the LOMA showing the relocated stream and new Zone A. I'm sure it was an expensive process and probably required topo'ing the entire new canal.
If you can get someone to provide you with a BFE, you might be able to apply for a regular LOMA for just the structure.
I think your situation may call for this;

B-)
"The LOMR is generally accompanied by an annotated copy of the affected portions of the FIRM, FBFM, or FIS report."
That sounds exactly like what I saw, but I now see the correct term is LOMR rather than LOMA for this type of revision. Nice find.
Thank you!
