Just thought you all would like to see, according to the attorney that declined my services,

a $375 Exactaca survey accepted order......

Here's the property

Now Exacta is going to take their cut - so I wonder what the surveyor is actully doing this for ???

We were several time the cost --

RFQ 12/18 - Close 1/3;

This invloves a Plat of sub - $15 first page $10 each next page
and a Vacation plat $15.

So I think Continuing Education classes should include a few more business classes.

Any chance you can get a copy of the final "survey"? My guess is that it will look amazingly like the recorded plat, along with a nice aerial image underlay.. and plenty of color printing to jazz it up!

Did you say a plat for $375??? Down here, you will easily blow through $375 sitting through all of the county reviews and public meetings to get the plat approved.

I got approached by an Exacta marketing guy the other night at a marketing meeting and it looks like they are trying to recruit surveyors in my area. I wished him luck, but told him that I was not interested.

No review in this area - it's Cook County - vote early and vote often !

Just curious exactly what they are doing here. Are they doing a replat to combine the 3 highlighted parcels into one? Here existing lots in the same subdivision can be combined by doing a short plat. No field survey is required as long as record lines are held, it's just a paper plat using record dimensions. A simple drafting excercise to create a record of the new lot. Still has to go out for public comment and no dedications can be made. I should add that you would be required to provide a Cert to Plat from a title company and that alone will cost $300.

Presume this was a request for a Mortgage Loan Inspection (MLI) report and the plat fees cited were for photo copies of reference materials needed. Many MLI reports are just enough to determine if an actual boundary survey is advisable.

yes, andy. one of their 'options' is a laminated plat. they have an office near baltimore as well.

I don't think the OP was about "platting". It was for a boundary survey. The plat is shown to illustrate that the parcel is already a combination of platted parcels, making it more complicated.

I remember getting a letter from Exacta as soon as I passed my Florida test, wanting me to run an office for them in the area. went right in the trash can.

So is Exacta a survey broker? Kind of like Bock and Clark except they specialize in residential mortgage surveys?

Multiple rip offs here.

How about a trademark?

Nice camera with a helluva good lens! 😀

It's sad to say, but where I am at I don't think you would get $375 for a boundary survey of that. Maybe I should move to Chicago. I just don't know how I would deal with all of the snow.

Andy you are right.

The Order requested a Boundary Survey. Not a mortgage inspection.

This is Lot 1 and Lot 40 in Block 15......and that part of vacated Gloucester street described as follows - M & B description about 5 lines....

Amazing - Now Exacta gets a cut of the $375, so what is the surveyor getting ?

I believe you have it backwards. Exacta isn't a broker, they are the (for lack of a better term) "surveyor". They just pay piecework for the field work.
