Some of you guys from the Big City help me out.
I've been asked to provide an Elevation Certificate on and upstairs unit of a lake condo. These are small 2 story condo's. My foundation type is 1A. My thought is to provide the lower unit elevation at C2.A and just note in the comments section that this unit isn't accessible from the upstairs unit. It that the right way to handle it?
Since it is 2 story building on a slab, you need to give elevations to the first floor, then the next higher floor, grades, etc.. the lowest machinery may be the outside AC unit if it is on the ground. I would make a note saying your client lives on the second floor. That is more for the insurance agent, flood waters may not reach the next higher floor, but if they wash out the lower floor, the top is going with it.
Your job is to show the building elevations, as FEMA requires
You may have to go inside and measure from the bottom floor to the ceiling to get the next higher floor elevation.
