With my system (Surveyor+ with GeoMax or Leica), whenever either the gun or the DC is power-cycled (as in between setups or when the DC goes into sleep mode during a prolonged period of inactivity), the first attempt to issue a command from the DC to the gun fails with an "Attempting to connect" message. I've learned that I can hit Cancel and respond No to the "Do you want to see the results" message, after which the radios will re-sync and everything proceeds normally. I don't know if it's a Parani issue, a DC issue or a gun issue, but the workaround is easy and quick, so I'm not inclined to spend any time investigating.
