Get a digital level & barcoded staffs & you will never get a misreading again. All our level loops are closed to within 2-3 cm for an average of 1km loops. Since we got the digital levels closesure errors were a thing of the past.

Do you mean 2-3 mm per km. we have a sokkia digital level that has a wave function after using that our closures tightened considerably. With loops under 15000' or so we typically see closures under .01'. I can't see a digital level being very efficient in most construction situations ( I also don't see a optical level being that efficient) but it is great for setting up the control for robot work.
