Things you wish you did different...

Thanks

Still happy with my initial installation per instructions 5 years ago.

Wish I had bought one that opened the front section from either drivers side or passenger side, instead of drivers side only.

I did buy the 270, wasn't sure if it was the right choice or not...

I used C-Clamps just like the in the picture to hold the middle panel and the ladder racks.
Never had the cover slip slide around in the least.

Initially I used a torque wrench and tightened to the manual spec.
This seemed to be way too much, as things started to visually bend.
After seeing the aluminum taking abuse, I backed them off and now just tighten by feel.

Here is a little food for thought, for those in the market.

The raw aluminum cover, in my experience does not greenhouse your truck bed.

Meaning, the interior temperature will not be that different from the outside air, compared to inside the cab and likely the bed under the Line-X coated covers on a hot sunny day. This may not hold true in the lower latitudes.

My extracurricular activities involve equipment that would be damaged by high heat, so things really work out well with the cooler and secure storage area.

i love mine, it works great. I get tons of compliments on it. I did have to retighten the clamps a time or two, but other than that haven't had a bit of trouble.

I got the 3 door unit with the black powdercoating.
