@holy-cow I had a local PD send an officer out to ??keep the peace? once, I didn??t get billed for it.
The Sheriffs always claim they are understaffed so your call gets low priority unless you write a check to cover overtime.
We add that as an assumption in our proposal
"that the property is accessible for the purpose of surveying and that the client provides access" (or something like that)
Granted, this is way past the proposal phase.
One time, this sort of thing happened to me, our VP showed up and explained to the complaining land owner that as surveyors, we "had the right to trespass" to do our job. Turns out, that wasn't true at the time of our survey but it got us access to the property. This was after the Sheriff had been called to run us off.
@dmyhill my point is, until the courts render their rulings, the rights of the intruder are not vested in them.
