Is there a method to obtain xyz data? There used to be programs I think from USGS or NGS to download the data. I think the program was STDS or something like that. I know you can get DEM data that will display in GIS and such, but I remember getting xyz grid at a 10 meter grid, although it was clunking to convert the data for use as points.

USGS has the data on?ÿ https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/ and you can search by a window - they also have many Radar/Lidar data sets along with ortho photos - usually from county-wide photo efforts

I use global mapper ( blue marble) to merge/ convert data sets - my simple GIS tool
