"faint" marks on Sec. corner.;-)

Rebar was set only to help find corner in deep snow by a previous surveyor (guess he was there in the winter and got frustrated looking for it). The next guy set the fence post.

This one was almost buried completely. Only the very top of the stone was visible.

The crew was very consistent on how they marked 1/4

Looking for stones and a guy pulling a cart across the high plains shows up.

Every day in the field is better than any day in the office!

Those are HUGE marks on the stone. Out here, they are little scratches compared to those. Great find though! And also nice perpetuation of the monument.

They are HUGE!
Where we normally work we don't see corners like that very often either. We jump up and down when there is anything on them and about 1/2 the time it's a "loose" stone because the original surveyor would: set a stone "in" earth mound.

Always great when there isn't any doubt about what you find!

That's the Cartman I was expecting in the original thread title. The picture of a cart being ridden by a man was totally unexpected.
