I am plotting a bunch of Deeds from 1774, Fincastle County, Virginia, which is now known as Kentucky. Several deeds with Patrick Henry's name on them....but to the point....my client wants them plotted in several different scales on clear film, my problem is that I am having a hard time converting, 1" = 1 mile, no problem, but here are the scales he wants....
1/4" = 1/2 mile
5 1/4" = 1 mile
1 1/2" = 1 mile
1 1/2" = 2 miles....

I'm sure there is a simple method for this madness, but my brain is burnt and my body is wore out....I am doing this in PC Survey drawing program which shouldn't make a difference...cogo scale, etc....and a little less bashing (like I said my brain is fried) and some help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Ron...:-)

Those are some odd-ball scales, even for old maps.
I wonder if he is aiming for 2 miles, 1,000', 3600' and 7200'
Might be worth a phone call for clarification, and ask for copies of the maps he is overlaying on.

Thanks Vern, pretty dang close to what I scratched out.....very odd scales and are going to used eventually for a book for the Kentucky History Center and for the University of Kentucky. This area I'm plotting is in Lexington, and there will be more to plot in a week or so, hopefully with some better scaling...:-P
