I've been wrong before, but my guess is:

What's left of the original Conrail is whole owned subsidiarity of CSX & NS. It was created out of assets of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, Erie Lackawanna, Lehigh & Hudson River, Lehigh Valley, Penn Central, and Reading railroads.

So you have to figure out the original owner of the section you need, then figure out whether that companies rails are now controlled by CSX or NS, then contact the appropriate company and hope that is CSX.

Now someone will come along and post "Call Bob Smith at 867-5309 and he will email you what you need" 😉

FWIW - the appropriate volume of this for where you work:

http://www.amazon.com/Railroad-Atlas-United-States-1946/dp/0801873312

is a great investment. Since railroads changed names and consolidated weekly during the 70's is nice to know who the owner was prior to all that chaos for record research.

Huh, I contacted CSX and they said that Conrail or Metro-North Commuter owned it (Bridgeport CT).

Ok, thanks.
