Fell over 3 times this morning. The 35 mph breeze would suddenly stop for two seconds and it's hard to recover so quickly from leaning at a 40 degree angle. Those things would be in Minnesota by now.
I'm glad I'm back in the shelter of the mountains. My 5 years in Kansas looking back were mostly good. Spring was one day and Fall was one day each year. The rest of the time it was to hot to cold to wet to dry to windy, etc. AND THEN THERE IS TICKS, big ones and little bitty ones. I hate ticks and chiggers no fun either.
We did get a lot of strong south wind coming up from Kansas today. Pretty soon they'll be starting those prairies on fire again to get the city folks all stirred up about poor air quality.
If a fire had started today it would still be going somewhere far from here. Backfiring would have been about the only large-scale antidote. Even that would have been very risky with the wind speeds involved.
I have a set that I use for air travel work. They are great but mine cost about 3 times much about 10 years ago. Also, mine are lit for night work. They make a great backup.
Same as John, a pack of three goes with me when I fly out to projects, better than nothing on a job site and easy to pack.
