Does anyone know if the CHC X91+ which is a Trimble BD-970 GNSS engine based RTK head, is compatible with the Trimble TSC 2 or 3 controllers running Trimble Access? Thanks for any comments.

I know the answer for sure: No

The CHC devices (X91+ and X900+) will work with SurvCE, FAST Survey and MicroSurvey. There is also a CHC produced software tool (Landstar) that is getting close to being a simple solution for the US market also.

There is a kinda-kludgy exception: it is possible to pre-configure these devices to turn on and broadcast standard NMEA corrections out the serial port or down the Bluetooth pipe; or turn on and do an 'Auto Base' however one would have to exit and use the CHC tool to configure the UHF frequency, the GSM cell phone. And there would be no way to use the data collector to pipe corrections via wifi to the head.

That said, they do use the BD-970 engine and they are fully optioned enabled: GPS + GAL + BDO + GLO. Here is a picture of the option page for one:

it would be an amazing value if they worked with other field software solutions.
