I rarely do a job in Beverly Hills and when I did do one I always knew that I would get royally robbed when I would go to the city hall and research C/L tie notes. From old age recall I think they charged $ 5.00 per 8 1/2 x 11 xerox page, and that was maybe 10 years ago.
I got a job yesterday in BH and after I had done the on-line research at the LA County web site I decided to see if BH had gotten on board like most of the other cities and had any survey information available for down load.
When the city splash page came up I clicked on the engineering tab and saw this blurb under Engineering Records regarding research...
Upon completing a Request Form, the customer must pay requisite minimum deposit, per below, at the Cashiering counter. (Note: Key Code #179, as indicated on the form.)
$125.50 is minimum deposit for Improvement Plans research/reproduction
$62.25 is minimum deposit for Survey and Sewer Lateral Records research/reproduction
STEP 3:
The records/information request form should be returned from the Cashiering staff to any Permit Center staff. That person shall put the completed form with attached copy of a payment receipt in the Public Works inter-office mail pick-up box, to be routed to Public Works, whereupon Public Works will complete the request. The completed form/copy of payment may also be e-mailed directly to the attention of the Public Works’ Principal Civil Engineer in lieu of inter-office mailing the records/information request form.
NOTE: Should Public Works spend more time to complete the request than is covered by the initial deposit amount, Public Works will direct the customer to the Cashiering counter to pay the differential balance due. The customer can then retrieve the requested information from Public Works, upon showing proof of payment using their receipt.
Ohh Joy! Just searching out some tie notes could run over $ 100.00.
There was a link to "Bench Marks" on a previous page so I thought "What the hell, doesn't cost to click a link" so I did and long to short, all the tie notes I needed were available at no charge...
But..
I have never seen tie notes like these before..LOL
Wow, They replaced the old notes with those GIS puke sheets. When I worked down in So Cal and would go into their office to do research it was spendy but if you were doing a lot of research they'd cut you a break on print costs.
Looks like the "upgrades" were farmed out to Rick Engineering.
I'll take the old sheets any day. I wish every City and State adopted CL ties.
Centerline Ties...Beverly Hills - Jered
I like how they are done. It sure is different from what I, and I am sure you, are used too.
Centerline Ties...Beverly Hills - Jered
It's nice that the info it there so readily so anyone can go find them and verify but I would still like to see the angles, Tangent ties ect.;-)
Nice find Paul. I never work there, but it is nice.
