I had the touchscreen die on my surveyor+ (Very bad timing). I was supposed to be doing some last minute checks on formed anchor bolts shortly before the concrete truck arrived. Suddenly the screen completely died. I tried multiple reboots and the little shortcut button that is supposed to disable and enable to touchscreen didn't do anything at all which I found weird.
Allen Precision got me a replacement (surveyor 2) by the next morning which is pretty much the best I could have asked for. Has anyone had a problem with these touch screens on this unit (surveyor+)? It's covered by warranty because it's not even two years old. I have never had one completely fail so abruptly like that on any other unit, especially after only two years.
Anyway, I think I like the surveyor 2 better, plus it doesn't have the external long range Bluetooth which is nice. Everything is contained within the unit. The screen is also bigger, but for some reason they made the buttons smaller. That's the only part I don't like. Should I push to get the upgrade or just keep running the old one?
