Hi guys!
Is it workable to operate the Leica GS14 (UHF RTK) rover with SurvCE/SurvPC 3.xx running in third party DC with its base/reference (Leica GS14/UHF RTK) setup with SmartWorx? I am worried of Leica propreitary thing. Or can I do it the other way around?
Thank you.
amdomag,
From what I know at this date, the LGS GS14 only works with the LGS Viva/Smartworxs SW. The GS14 uses the new Bluetooth PAN, precludes NTRIP RTK Rovers users from using their VZW MiFi devices. Since Hexagon/LGS own MicroSurvey, the Field Genius SW is interface is rumored to be in the works. The CSW SurvCE v3 has a new driver for the LGS GS14, but CSW engineered themselves with out any help from Switzerland. SurveyTheMark may chime in, add his comments, Mark's the LGS support Guru.

The GeoMax Zenith 25 has the same board as the GS14 and will work with Carlson on some third party data collectors very soon. The drivers are listed for it in Version 3.01 that just came out last week, but I haven't had a chance to test it.

The Leica GS14 works with Carlson SurvCE. In fact at this time that is the only way I have sold it. The Carlson software does have to be run on a CS10-15 and you need at least Viva LT (cheaper than the full version) to initially set it up. There is still a small glitch in the Carlson that will warn you that Carlson is unable to set radio channel however if you clear out the unit continues to work fine.
The GS14 works with Carlson, Viva and MicroSurvey. We have tested each.
Can you mix SmartWorx, SurvCE/SurvPC 3.x, and Fieldgenius (say some data collectors using the Smartwox, others using the SurvCE/SurvPC, and others Fieldgenius) in a fleet?
Thank you so much for sharing..
Good day!
