Windows Mobile Device Center will not connect.

I have a USB to Serial and I can connect through SurvCE file Transfer
and/or Survcomm but it takes forever. So it is communicating, but WMDV
will not work.
Its Windows 7 Professional and the USB to Serial is 64 bit.

The Carlson Explorer 2 does not have a USB connection.

Anybody have a remedy?

Thanks

I've just used the Carlson transfer option. I don't believe it will allow you to use the windows device. I thought I had read that in the Carlson manual.

I believe it is a matter of patience more than anything else.

I have an Explorer II in my office that we took in on trade. To see if it connects ok, I had to round up my USB to serial adapter and the 9-pin null-modem cable.

It did not want to connect at first but it did. You normally have to sort of initiate the process on the Explorer by telling it you are connecting with the PC Link. Once that program starts to look for the computer, Mobile Device Center recognized it on my computer.

You have to make certain the the WinCE device driver installs on your PC. If that doesn't happen, no communication will ensue.
