Hi all,
You might be able to help us with a little issue we’re having down here, we have recently upgraded to windows 7 and use Civil3D 2012, now when we used Civil3D 2011 Carlson Connect worked just fine, what we are using it for is converting our rw.5 file to a usable fieldbook, since we’ve switched to windows 7 and Civil3d 2012 and reinstalled the Carlson Connect utility simply does not do anything and we get a message saying dll file or other file missing and error ARXLOAD failed, we’ve spent time searching for a fix and nothing so far has helped, several reinstalls of both Civil3d and Carlson Connect haven’t helped either, also Carlson seems to work on one computer but not on the other two in our office.
We have also tried using stringer connect for the conversion but Civil3D seems to do something to the data that moves the entire surveyed area off of its co-ordinates, not ideal even though the co-ordinates in the fieldbook remain unchanged. We use the Sokkia SRX hence the need to use Carlson connect. Maybe using CSV files will be the best fix for now but we want this sorted.
Ideas on a postcard please?
I might have run into this (or a similar issue) in 2011. Here is what I did to solve the problem:
1. I killed my C3D profile via the steps at Resetting user settings for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010
(other C3D platforms are listed at the end of the article)
2. I also had to use the Carlson Knowledgebase article at http://update.carlsonsw.com/kbase_main.php?action=display_topic&topic_id=770
If this doesn't solve the problem, I'd suggest a call/Email into the Carlson Technical Support staff.
