I am running Carlson v2012|iCAD. I use field to finish to label my trees when doing a tree survey, but this time I have too many trees and my tree text is overlapping. I thought "fix overlaps" would solve my problems but it says there are no points. WTF?!?!?... there ARE points. The point data is NOT on standard layers, but on a layer called V-TREE so when I freeze points it will remain.
Is there a way to move point data and not the point? Will field to finish fix these overlaps? Help? ideas?
Carlson...
I spelled Carlson wrong 😀
... Monday, sheesh
There are no points because in field to finish you used the attribute lable to lable the trees. That label is pure text and not part of the point block.
Perhaps if you set each different type of tree as a separate field to finish item and selected different text insertion points for each tree type in the attribute set up?
is there a way to move this text and not the points?... if I grab the text it moves the symbol, text, & point.
If I understand your problem correctly, use the Move Point Attributes or Move Point Attributes with Leader command under the points menu. You can also resize the point attributes.
Doug
in field to finish Under the attributes tab select Both, then click on set and check the box for descriptions, in the layer box, put a new layer for the text only, then reprocess, now you have a seperate text entity to work with.
yep thats it CPT
Thanks, but
Thanks guys I was able to do what I needed to with the move point attribute data.... one acre tree survey so it only took like 5 minutes to fix.
BUT: I have my F-2-F set on attribute block, both and have different layers for symbols and text, BUT the point data is NOT plain text... it is attribute data. I am not sure I understand what y'all are saying about resolving the problem in f-2-f.
Thanks, but
Look closely at the screen capture I posted and set your stuff up EXACTLY like that capture shows and all of your tree descriptions will come in as separate text. "POINT ATTRIBUTES AS TEXT SETTINGS"??
