The Oregon Court of Appeals has just issued this little beauty. Interesting how a property line survey has apparently failed to diffuse a disagreement between neighbors.

I'm dismayed to learn that my Oregon neighbor will have to point his gun at me twice before I can get a Stalking Protective Order from the court. I don't think he would get that second chance in Oklahoma, if you know what I mean.

Lot of people died in the Old West the first time they drew a weapon on someone else. Apparently, Oregon has become sissified, if that's a word.

Not too many sissy's I know up here in Oregon.

I do happen to know plenty of people here who can hit what they're aiming at.

Then to, I spend fair amount of handgun "fun time" shooting targets (stopped competitions years ago) myself. Plenty of long gun time to boot.

None of those folks would pull a gun except to use it.

Only idiots threaten to shoot people... usually that's called "suicide by cop" up in these here Oregon parts....

The courts in Oregon have been pretty liberal on self defence shootings as well.

It's not that most are sissies, but that their government protects the criminals. Unless your dead, there isn't a good reason for self defense. Something very wrong with the left cost logic. lol

Its a disease that infests the population centers along I5 corridor, as government grows it spreads. The pioneer spirit of can do has been compromised by those who can't, but demand others to provide all and then complain and want to control how. Can't last forever, but I wonder how much we will have left to rebuild from. Never happen, look at history.

I remember when I first started in Land Surveying (18 years ago). There was a man murdered over a boundary dispute. The Surveyor I worked for, told me that land can get you killed faster than sleeping with someone's Mrs. I'm not recommending go after another s lady. His point was how angry and protective people are over what they think is their land.
Because of his advice I try to always stay on all owners good side.

In fairness, the court denied an SPO. It did not address other criminal charges that may have stemmed from the events.

Was taking an Oregon Law course and reviewed a case history for presentation to the class. Although the points were made about what and why the court remanded it back to the lower court, I have since wished I had had the foresight to point out what the court did not do. That was not to block other justifiable charges being brought under the correct rule of law to be made in the future by being represented by a competent Attorney. That impressed me after I figured out what was really the important point made in that case law study.
