Is there a BT device and cable combo that I can use to make my BT Nomad communicate to a Topcon 311?
might be able to do it with a Piranni SD radio. Not sure if they're configurable enough to make one radio talk to your Nomad though. I used one at each end when I was doing it that way.
I don't know what a Topcon 311 is but I don't think it's robotic.... Nomad has a 9 pin port if I'm not mistaken.... I believe the device you seek is called a cable. Apologies in advance if I'm being ignorant.
^Wow.
Yes, there is an cable adapter to a bluetooth adapter that would allow you to pair a GTS-300 series with a bluetooth Nomad. I believe I have seen Troy Deaton make some. May want to contact him, just search Deaton's Geotronics.

Thank you, sir.

One of the keys to making this work is knowing the communications parameters of the GTS-310 series. The parameters are unalterable on that instrument.
Baud Rate = 1,200
Parity = Even
Word length = 7
Stop Bits = 1
You will need a Bluetooth adapter that can be configured in that manner. The instrument never knows the Bluetooth adapter is there. You would simply plug the 9-pin cable you use with the data collector into the Bluetooth device and pair it with the Nomad.
