We are getting ready to buy a new radio for our Topcon Hiper system. We are looking at Pacific Crest ADL Vantage Pro and the Topcon TRL-35. Any recommendations?

Well, I was going to send this to you in a private email, but you don't have one in your profile. So, here it is:
---------------------------------------
Pac Crest used to produce some of the best radios in the industry. Now that TRIMBLE has bought them up, things have changed. I sent mine in, for a new rover battery, in a PDL 4500, and they DELIBERATELY installed an UNDER spec battery. I kept sending it in, and it NEVER had the power it had with the original battery. I opened it myself, (Against manufacturer recommendation) and caught them. They are on my dirt list. I replaced the battery myself, and could not be happier. ANYTHING BUT TRIMBLE.
Nate

If it was me, I would go with ArWest. It boggles my mind how far I can get on an internal 1watt radio (Javad) compared to my old PC 35watt external and Topcon Hiper+ setup. If ArWest's external is anything like the 1 watt internal of Javad, it's money well spent. And they broadcast on all flavors. Not specific languages like PC/Trimble. I'm not going back to PC anymore.

So, what brand/model would you recommend, if not Pac Crest/Trimble? Happy New Year, Nate!

Javad has radios that will run with Most anything. [email protected] can tell you about which cables you may need. N

Just got around to reviewing with an AR West (Javad) representative what might be a good setup for my Topcon Hiper Pro receivers. Looks reasonably affordable. I think I might do it.
