Not sure exactly when it all happened, but I just went out to do some testing, and found almost 100% of Florida stations are now sending BeiDou info (on all 3 bands). Just this past Thursday I only saw 1 BeiDou station in the entire state. My Leica GS18 with latest firmware, and my Trimble R12 with latest firmware, were both able to use all 4 constellations and all 3 bands. However, the only way (that I could figure out how) to get the BeiDou birds was with the Port 40000 Single Baseline port.
This should be a helpful improvement for non base/rover folks.
Is the Florida DOT network GNSS synonymous with the free Florida network GNSS? I work for Orange County Public Works survey section. We have older Topcon gear, and we use only Navstar and GLONASS constellations. Our GNSS work is almost exclusively RTK.
Leica just updated their firmware for their GR series to include the newer BDS signals +SV's>37 and the Galileo E6.?ÿ?ÿ
Florida is likely using the Leica GR30 or GR50 with the updated firmware.?ÿ Agree, big improvement in certain situations.
@field-dogYep. It's the same animal. Florida Permanent Reference Network (FPRN). It's is completely free.
Most Beidou satellites broadcast 4 signals.
