The Polaris Ranger Roof made of high-density plastic for outdoor use. It has a good texture and is durable and impact resistant. It will not age or crack in a few months.

Pre 4 wheelers and before i used rtk more often than not. We welded a oipe on a old ball and had a holder that mounted to the tow hitch area worked great for keeping the rod vertical it was a prism pole. But worked. I rigged one up on a 4 wheeler in 2006 for a guy. He ran around doing continuous topo with a robot. We had it set up so he could get a good target height. I like those collapsing rtk rods instead of the two piece fixed for walking through brush. That would also be nice on a at. As well.

I bought a 3' piece of 5/8" allthread, which is bolted to the side of our utility basket on the ATV.  A quick disconnect nipple is bolted to the top of that allthread.  We know the measure up to the bottom of the mount and can "ride" topo all day long.  Total cost = +/- $20 bucks for the allthread and u-clamps plus time to install.  Much better than those janky Seco style rod holders and a hell of a lot less expensive.  Survey rod gets clamped in a gun rack on the front of the basket. The user has to adjust rod height if they switch back and forth, which isn't a huge deal as long as you have conscientious users.
