How far back are the masses keeping hardcopy files or surveys for research etc? I have 40 yrs of surveys. Most have been scanned. Time to make room for new computers?

Mmmmmm! Nothing like the smell of musty paper to remind you that everything grows old and fuzzy over time, including ourselves and our products. Couple of days ago the local paper had a story about a lady who was retiring from her job after more than 33 years. About a year before that I had hired her to provide day care for my children. Now I'm feeling a thousand years old.

There is nothing quite like an original document. I will never run out of storage space for originals, mine and those I have obtained from others. Every technology that has come along to produce copies has eventually been made to look inferior by something new. That trend will continue indefinitely. 1984 arrived 30 years ago. Manipulating history is a piece of cake.
