I have no idea which person is correct but all I know that at least one of them should have paid for a visit from a surveyor.

What is the meaning of all those references to "deeds"? Wouldn't that land have a Torrens title issued in reference to a plan on file in the Land Titles Office?

It could have been any old survey plan, conveyance (what you call a deed I think), etc.

The reporter certainly wouldn't have known the correct word to use.
