Back when surveyors were professionals...

I find a pair of wool trousers - suit or business - work well in all weathers to keep me warm.

A white business shirt works to keep the sun off - a merino tee-shirt underneath for cold days.

But I dont wear a tie - hate the things - so the shirt is worn open collar. Maybe I should use some of that flagging when I need to dress it up a bit 🙂

In the past, when working for engineers and architects, I've asked them to be my field assistant for site surveys.

Often I've just got a rough rejection - they are usually the type you never want to work for anyway - but some are glad to get out in the field. I find the younger they are, the more open they are to the suggestion.

It gives a much better appreciation for the site and its features, we collect the data they decided is needed. And just maybe they get a better idea of what goes on to make a good survey.

I've made some friends that way and I know we have done better work because of it.

Survey insurance

Major bummer, so sorry you went through that. The hassle of getting the chariot fixed pales in comparison to the trauma of the accident, I'm sure.

Forgive me if I'm making more of it than it was, just the original softie when it comes to all animals.
