I got to use the land stretcher today. Our task was to cut 5 acres from 14. The trick was that we were only to take in the open area. Turned out to be all of 2.7 acres. So we broke out the old land stretcher and gave it a whirl. We managed to squeeze 3.8 acres out of it by going into the trees a bit. Finally, the client decided he was ok with just under 4 acres since the meter was running. I must have sweated 5 gallons...
Looking for evidence....something....anything....on the south boundary line of a section of land in the Tibbee Creek bottom of Clay County, Mississippi. I got nothing!:-(
"My dad showed me a metal post when I was a kid. But, that's has been years ago. I can't find it now. And I think my neighbor has cut some of my timber."
This area has been underwater so many times, it may have washed away most of those "original footprints" we all know that are out there. B-)
I will keep looking......

Tuned in to Beerleg while attempting to shake cobwebs from my head.
Headed out at standard time.
Sat in convenience store, eating breakfast and conversing with others, while watching the rain pour down outside.
9:00 arrived to meet with client, watching the rain.
9:15 called the client. Oops, he'd be right there.
9:20 the rain let up and the client arrived.
9:30 we have all we need to know and jump in the truck just as the rain hits again.
Spent until lunch time in the courthouse researching a different job.
About 1:30 arrived at second job site and searched for corner monuments in muddy county road bed. Not going to try to even walk out into the soybeans-planted-in-wheat-stubble field for a couple more weeks.
2:30 arrive at third job site, set up and spray in locations to dig for bars. Found one out of four. Ten million signals from metal detector as this is on and adjacent to an abandoned railroad bed with multiple sidings. Head back there today with alternate locations to search. At least we won't sink knee deep in mud there.
4:00 gave it up for the day.
By 5:00 I'm back at the computer switching between Beerleg and drafting.
8:00 start of Rural Water District Board of Directors monthly meeting.
9:00 in my easy chair watching Under the Dome.
10:00 back to Beerleg and more drafting
11:30 took one more look at the rainy forecast and went to bed
I located wrack line, approximate high water and top of bank / berm above high water.
The beach has changed by that much since the last aerial photo. Nemo was the main culprit, but it is now in a very fragile state.
The camps that would now be in the water were removed.
