7(b)(2): Square footage of other areas as specified by the client.

Had a request for this checked and "all improvements" written next to it.

I asked what they meant by all improvements.

The reply:

Response: The note, "All Improvements", is a clarification to include all buildings, pavements, retaining walls, fences, benches, etc.; everything that man has added to the bare ground.

I hope they have big bucks ($$$) budgeted for the survey. Its an 18 acre apartment complex site with lots of things man has added to the bare ground including everything she mentioned and more.

I've had a few residential and commercial projects where the zoning imposed strict lot coverage limits. I had to calculate the total square footage of impervious area on the sites and show the total, but never had to label each item separately with a breakdown for building, sidewalk, parking lots, etc.

We do that a lot on site plans. Seems most cities we work in have minimum "green space" requirements.

Just killed me that she included benches and fences and other stuff. I asked her again if she really wanted square footage of all that stuff and it finally clicked in her head that she only wanted building footprints with areas but other items located and shown. I told her we could do that and which Table A item that was (that she also had already checked - it's one of those where they check everything and you have to go back and ask them what they really want/need).
