Great pics, as usual.

Question: Why not aerials or lidar for this topo? Or a scanner?

And second, I could have told you from the git-go.......go directly to Step 4.

Very neat Topcon advertisement if you could have had a different ending, but they put up a good fight you can always say!! Neat pictures as usual. How come they can't fly a little strip like that this time of year, is it to little? How did those containers get off loaded, there must be some cranes somewhere nearby that don't show up?

I think this would be the perfect lidar job...but weather is crappy and unpredictable. There is also a bunch of control and leveling work here so figured the Brass felt we could get the Topo while at it...it is going to be interesting to say the least

As always, great pics!! I swear you have two occupations; surveyor and photographer. 🙂

That must of been neat to run into some of the Deadliest Catch people and boats! Sig is my favorite!! New season should be starting soon. Woohoo!!

That is so freakin awesome Daryl!!!
The best part was running into Capt. Sig. He's my favorite.
Occasionally the Billikin is seen on the show as well.
When does the new season air on TV anyhow?

I was wondering the same thing. Apparently they have been filming season 7 but so far there has been no announcement of when it will start to air. *sigh* :-/

I'm proud to say I've spent the better part of a day drinking with Mr. M, )and his lovely wife) and I don't think too many folks could go two to one in the beer drinking chart with him!! plus you work up an awful thirst wandering around Salt Lake City looking for a source.

I'm thinking the most fitting end to the Hiper would have been to give it a round of toasts followed by burial at sea.

It must have been on when it went in the drink and also in more than 15 of water. I've seen lots of them take dunkings but if the pressure is too great then the seals will allow water into the case. Add power and nothing good will come out of it usually.

I would have kept it and then used it as a decoy unit when in spots where miscreants are common place.

Great pics, again.

How come you had to get a scuba diver to retrieve the receiver. I thought you are one.

What are the temps (air & water) up there this time of year?

I suppose divers aren't typically too keen on sharing their personal gear, and it's not something you would typically think of bringing along for land surveying.

Better to hire it out and stay warm and dry yourself. Good call.

Enjoy and stay safe.
