Here are a few projects from a week ago to locate and remonument some 1890 Missouri River Commission triangulation stations in Nebraska. The 'Winnebago' site was a continuation of a project that was started nearly 5 years ago. The 'Sandig' site was a new one that got the landowner involved. The 'Tekamah' site didn't find the original monument, but we confirmed that it has been removed.

Once again - more good stuff. I wish all surveyors were as interested in the history of our noble profession as we are.

This is the type of surveying I would love to be doing! People ask me all the time what I'm doing and more often than not my response is, "Looking for treasure," but what you found there is real treasure.
