Does anyone know if microsoft has a centerline symbol in the symbol library. And if so can you provide the location or symbol number. I have looked but prob missed it.

Thanks for the help.

Underline The Latin Capital C with Stroke

?_

However underlines disappear on this board.

I have not done an overstrike in years and never in Windoze.

What do you have to do to get the "U+xxx" to work? I never have been able to get these symbols to work.

In older versions we used

%%C Diameter
%%P Tolerance
%%D Degree
` CL SYMBOL

In text entry hold shift and type percent percent then ` for the symbol.
In current version once in text entry the insert symbol comes up as an option on the ribbon, just select what you want and insert.

Two options I can think of:

1. The U+2104 can be entered by holding down the Alt key and entering 8452, then release Alt key. (2104 is hex for 8452 decimal) Assuming your font has the character defined.

2. Open charmap.exe in Windows and find the symbol of the font you want, then select and copy. (Just enter charmap in search box in Windows start menu)

Hope that helps,

Jacob

Convert hex to decimal and then use the Alt key combo by holding down the Alt key and then entering the decimal value.

Here is one online hex to dec converter http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/hex-to-decimal-converter

I played around with a Font creating program and made my own font with survey symbols.
It worked well but I haven't used it for a while.
But with the right program you can adapt a current font and make it work for you.
The degree sign is often too large or too high. I changed that for my survey plans.
It's a worthwhile option to consider.
