I am running Civil3D 2012 with both TSC and Access. I am aware that I can pull in just a point file and process linework. I want to pull in the survey so I can take advantage of C3D survey by doing things such as analyze/close traverse, adjust points, and then re-run linework.

My current problem is (1) my .xsl style in TSC and Access cannot create an .fbk correctly for a particular survey (don't know why) and (2) Trimble Survey Link has never worked right (again, don't know why, and I don't want to mess with Autodesk addins).

What I would like to know is:
-how are others getting things into C3D from TSC/Access?
-what is the easiest way to get an .fbk file?
-other thoughts/advice are appreciated.

I like Trimble Link and have never had any trouble with it. I have the same problem you have with exporting a custom format FBK from my collectors. Have tried downloading the ASCII file generator from Trimble? Google it. You'll also need to that same FBK style sheet. Then save your .job on your computer and convert to FBK with the ASCII file generator.

The TSC2 and TSC3 can only convert small jobs, they don't have enough memory or processor to convert anything with any size to it. I've never had any problems getting an FBK from ASCII File Generator, here's the link:

Ah, I understand now about the memory/processor problems. I have tried the ascii file generator tool and it works great. thanks to both of you (exbert and Lee D) for your help.
