I had my laptop set up to use bluetooth to communicate with my Trimble R8-3 receivers and it was working fine until yesterday. All of a sudden I get a notice that a bluetooth device is trying to connect. When I click on the dialog to allow the connection it asks for a pairing code. It's my recollection that I initially set these up not to use a code (I can't find any information from Trimble about a pairing code). Also, everything works fine for the other receiver which really has me perplexed. I tried setting up the device from scratch but no joy. Any suggestions?
TIA,
Doug
As best as I can tell, there shouldn't be a passkey. Beyond that, serial over bluetooth is a finicky thing. One that I have had more failure than success with in the past. Could be a corrupted driver for the bluetooth hardware. Try uninstalling it from the device manager then scan for changes. It should reinstall the driver.
Hey there! Just send the r8 to me and don't worry about it any more. I'll take care of it for the rest of it's life.
Is this the one where the last (or first) 4 digits of the serial number are the bluetooth pass?
First thing I would try is a hard boot on the R8.
Just to let everybody know, the correct answer is 0000 for the pairing code. Thanks for all the suggestions.
