Hi, I have found something I don't understand in these files.
A point record has a face 1 and face 2 record, then a MTA (mean turned angle) record.
The horizontal circle in the MTA record does not appear to be the average of the two (after converting face 2 to face 1) as you might expect.
I'm sure there is a simple explanation?

I have no experience with these, but I wonder is the MTA (horiz circle) an azimuth?
That must be it. Somewhere there must be the orientation info.
What you have is just the foresight angles. You need the backsight angles too. The 334.366 degrees could be the angle right which the result of foresight circle reading minus backsight circle reading.
For example, it could look like this:
