I am new to working with Trimble Business Center and had a question about the .fxl file for feature code processing. I have created a custom .fxl to work with. After I process my data, I get most of my line work to process. I have a join point command from the line control category added but I can't get the line strings to connect together. For example, I would have the point number 200 with the code erb JP 125 and point number 125 would also have the code erb and the the lines won't connect together. I have start and end codes in the file and they work. I would like to know if you can join points together that way or if you need to do it another way. Also, I would like to know how you get symbols along your line strings on your nodes. When I create a code for a point only, I can add a symbol but I don't have that option with a line string. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

If you are coding both symbols and linework, put the code for the symbol(s) at the beginning. Because the line codes may have controls associated with them, the symbols need to go at the front.

I am not sure why the join point command would not be working - I would check your control codes to make sure something other than JP is not in the "JoinToPointNumber" field. The default command is JPT. The code of the point you are joining to does not matter - TBC will simply continue the line that is active in the point containing the "join" command.

Also, Access/TBC does not require line start and end codes if you are incrementing the string numbers. It is all personal preference, but if you are running Measure Codes I tend to simply increment using the + key on the screen. When the software sees a new line code it will automatically start a line whether it has the begin control or not.
