Hi all,?ÿ

Firstly please bear with me, I am a hydrographic surveyor struggling to deal with a Topcon GPT-9003A Total Station and more specifically the TopSurv software running on the TS. I need to write a user guide for our hydro surveyors to do some quite simple measurements using these TS and have so far got to grips with the instrument itself, setting up, levelling etc.

Let me explain the application. We set up a TS over a known point on a quayside, zero the azimuth to a second point and then shoot 30 measurements at 30 second intervals to a prism mounted on a GNSS antenna on a ship, typically <100m range. Simultaneously we record GNSS data and then compare the two sets of measurements in Excel to verify GNSS performance. That is it.....So, what I need is a FBK file with these 30 measurements.

Now, as soon as TopSurv is involved life gets very complicated (at least for me it does!)

Does anyone know of a simple guide to making simple measurements like this or can anyone suggest a method of avoiding TopSurv completely?

Thanks in advance

Rich

To make the process easier with less problems, upgrade TopSurv to MagnetFeild.

Thanks Lee, i am not sure that adding software with more functionality is the way to go. These are relatively old units and Win CE is already slow.

I just need something very simple and easy

Thanks

Rich,

I can help you if all other efforts fail.

I'd have to blow off the dust of the FC250 w/ TopSurv and charge the battery.

If the 9003 A is robotic which I think it is

  • Orient to your back point
  • Go to survey - Auto Topo
  • Settings you can set up time or distance intervals to log
  • Start
  • or you can start and use the log now key
  • Export - Raw Data - fbk
