Does anyone have experience importing .TLV files (SurvCE trignometric level file) in StarNet? I haven't found a way for StarNet to read these files and have been entering data in manually.?ÿ
Have you called Microsurvey? My experience is that they are very helpful.
Yes we reached out and said they do not support .TLV files. They are attempting to find a workaround for us. I will update this post once I hear back.

I'm a big StarNet fan, but my experience with calling Microsurvey for bug support is different from yours. Fortunately it has only been necessary twice in 25 years. Both times I was told that they were aware of the problem and would address it in a future release.
The end.
I always write my own translators, that fits better with my workflow. I have translators written for GPS, conventional TS data, and leveling (Leica, Topcon, Dini) for Geolab, starnet, and Move3. The only one that I have used of Star*net is the one to read a Trimble data exchange format file, which is not how I usually do my workflow but I have used that option one or two times when I had issues using other people's data.
I learned to program in my freshman year in college in 1977, Fortran IV, and that has been one of the things that has helped me be successful over the years...anyone who works with a lot of data (i.e. surveyors) really should know how to write a simple data formatting program.
Maybe I should offer that as a service...

This is the way to go. If I remember correctly, TLV files are just comma delimited text. Should be easy enough to write a script or manually find/replace to get things to work.
MicroSurvey wasn't able to help us so I ended up making a program in Google Sheets that converts the .TLV file into a format that can be read in StarNet. It turned out to be a fun project that should save time in the future. Thanks for the input everyone.
