I did it (as only a stubborn Grasshopper could):-D
Looking for a way to record multiple astro azimuths only using SurvCE, so that at least I had an electronic logbook, or output the data via a .csv file directly into Larry Scott's Totally Excellent Solar Spreadsheet. Not possible said some...
But it is, said I. I knew SurvCE records azimuth only to an unknown backsight from a known point, so I decided to see if I could just record a bunch of backsights (which will really be my foresights to the Sun). Here's the kludge:
1. Go to the Store Points screen, then directly to the Backsight screen.
2. Enter two points, say 1 and 2.
3. On the gun itself, 0set while observing the backsight, and Check Angle and Set Angle.
4. Make sure "Use Current" is set.
4. Shoot the astro object; record the time.
5. Check Angle, then Set Angle
6. Repeat 4. and 5. as needed (both faces).
7. Observe backsight; Check Angle and Set Angle.
Voila!
Raw data then consists of a bunch of angle only "Backsights".
