I am a little slow to update, but I am running Survey Pro 4.5.3 on a Recon. I have searched with no success as to how to get form a Job File or RAW data file to an acceptable RINEX File acceptable to OPUS. I have never uploaded a file to OPUS and am trying to get the file format right.

Thanks

To my knowledge, neither a TDS .job or .raw file contains raw GPS data (except for RTK stuff). What receiver brand do you have? Did you have it log raw GPS data to the receiver or the recon?

No, just set up to collect raw data. I assume this will give me a different file format? I'll re-post in a couple of hours. Thanks
Reciever is a Topcon Hiper Pro

Normally, you have to set your static GPS base station to log the raw GPS data in it's internal memory, then download that data to your computer, then upload that file to OPUS. I'm pretty sure TDS does not have the ability to log raw GPS data. If you are using a Topcon GPS, you are looking for a .TPS file in the receiver's internal memory. I'm not sure about other brands.

Edit, I see above that you mentioned a Topcon Hiper Pro. That's the same receiver I have and I use it for OPUS all the time. When you set up your static base station and turn it on, push the gray FN button under the power button. That should start the receiver collecting internal static data. The REC light should turn red and it will blink off at the rate you are collecting data (i.e., it will flash off every 10 seconds if you are logging data at 10 second intervals). I don't recommending logging 1-second data because it will eat up your memory quick (mine only has 4MBs).

When you've got the data you want, just turn it off.

At the office, hook the Hiper up to a computer ... you'll probably need a 9-pin serial port or USB to serial adaptor and the DC-to-Hiper cable. You'll also need a download program, I use PC-CDU, which is a free Topcon utility. You'll see with PC-CDU you can manage many parts of receiver, this is where you can set your log rate (I recommend 10 seconds for OPUS). Just connect and go to File Manager and find your TPS data log file. If you have limited memory like I do, make sure you clear out your RAM often. You can submit the TPS file directly to OPUS with no conversions required.

It's a piece of cake once you've done it a couple of time.

I have the exact same setup, except I have a Hiper Lite Plus. I tried to log GPS data once with the data collector and it would not let me. I assumed it wasn't supported for some reason. So, I just collected the raw data using the MINTER instead.

You have to have RAM activated on the receiver. 4 mb is enough for me. They will easily store over a day's data at 10 second sampling rate. The default is 1 second, and they will fill up quickly at that rate. There is no other way, that I am aware of, to store the data files on Topcon Hiper receivers.

I did as you all directed. It appears all is working. I realized I must wait for the CORS Stations to upload their data to get a solution. I'll try again tomorrow, but thank you all for your rapid responses. This is my first time using this forum. I really appreciate it.

Also, You mentioned you also had a Hiper Pro. Which Antennae option do you choose on the OPUS Upload page. I don't see one that says Pro, or matches my P/N which is 01-840802-08.

Thanks again!

Yeah, good point. A long time ago I checked the specs and found that the Hiper Pro and Hiper Lite have the same offsets, so I used the Hiper Lite antenna.
