I got my hands on the latest version of Trimble Business Center (3.60). But only the TBC Complete Edition. Finally after 14 years a lot of the capability of TerraModel is showing up. I'm sort of disappointed that I can't do alignments nor is paper space (the use of Dynaviews) unless I get the Advanced Edition and the Advanced Drafting Module but it appears that this is also there I just can't tinker with that unless I get the upgraded license.
I've always for 20 years used TerraModel for design and to do survey stuff and also to finish the final drawing's and plats (no use of another CAD program) and I liked that but 14 years of practically no improvements was a long dry spell but shows just how good TerraModel has been to me.
The other great surprise that I really wanted is you can now Import a TerraModel .pro file. Considering the legacy of 20 years of TM files I have the direct import is a BIG plus. I haven't had enough time to see just how the Import comes through and since I don't have the Advanced Drafting Module I can evaluate just how well this works (does sheet view and dynaviews come through ÛÒ paper space).
So Trimble is up a notch in my book. I just purchased a M3 total Station and really need to upgrade from my 4700 receivers and TSC2. So maybe Trimble will get some more business out of me, one more GPS setup will probably take me to the day I can't work anymore.
I don't know what version of Windows you are running but I ran across this notice from Frontier Precision saying "Windows 10 is currently not compatible with Trimble survey software."
I have W10 running and TGO doesn't work so beware of Trimble software until they get it fixed. In the case of TGO, I doubt that will ever happen.

The release notes for TBC v3.51 lists
- Updated Network License Manager for Windows 10
as one of the major resolved issues. I would hope that this means that the entire product is compatible with W10, but can't say for sure.
I have Win7 Pro. It loaded fine with no issues at all. It did take it awhile to download a complete full version (about an hour). Maybe the Internet was clogged up Friday evening or something.
Win10 isn't going to be as free as it might seem. You get the upgrade free but in a year of so it will go to an annual fee to keep it going. Hopefully the annual fee won't be to great, I've read maybe $60.
I'd pay a lot more if they actually developed something without all the security issues!

P.S. It's interesting that they say that Windows 10 isn't compatible with Trimble software, rather than the other way around.
Hi, I am running TBC 3.60 on my Surface Pro 3 under Windows 10. All runs well except F1 doesn't supply the help. Terramodel has the same issue.

Yeah, sort of speaks volumes about arrogance doesn't it.
They're definitely trying to bring TBC up in line with ACAD and MicroStation when it comes to final production.. I'd be happy to just have Terramodel's RDE back!
I just ran into this problem with Windows 10 and TBC. The office computer that was upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 would not run TBC 3.60. I uninstalled TBC and reloaded it. TBC is running fine. It seems that the computer that does the upgrade isn't recognizing some of the Trimble products. Hope this helps.
Trimble has a cleanup utility that was first released with TBC 3.50. If I was going to upgrade to Win 10 I'd run that first and try to get everything Trimble off the machine, then do a clean full installation of 3.60 after upgrading Windows. I've seen several computers on which TBC wouldn't run right and it had something to do with old Trimble software being installed.
Is everything moving to 64bit these days? Seems my old laptop wont be able to use these newer programs as they are 64 bit.

I think you can install 64 bit OS on any system. There isn't any special hardware requirements.
You might want to add memory to your laptop at the same time though.
I'm having an issue with 3.60 on my Win 10 pro machine. None of the residual plots are visible in the base line processing report. I just get a little red x in the top left corner where the plot image should be. Opening the same project on a Win 7 machine and viewing the baseline processing report shows them perfectly.
Anyone else having this issue with 3.60 and W10?
